The State Fair Sampler was inspired by a mosaic of quilt blocks on the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Going to the fair is one of my family’s favorite summer activities and I just had to make a quilt with some of the quilt blocks! Now the 96 page book is available to you and your customers too! This is a great book to sell on its own and has also been used by shops as an epic Block of the Month.

Here are all the details:

There are 36 blocks in 6 different sizes::
(1) 36” block
(1) 32” block
(5) 24” blocks
(3) 16” blocks
(15) 12” blocks
(11) 8” blocks

Blocks are made with both traditional and foundation paper pieced units.

Multiple Layout Options

Four different quilt layouts are also included, queen, large throw, small throw and crib. The sizes are:

- Queen: 96” x 92”
- Small Throw: 48” x 60”
- Large Throw: 62” x 72”
- Crib: 32” x 36”

Yardage

The queen-sized quilt uses 4 1/2 yards of background fabric and 12-14 yards of various prints and solids.

I used Michael Miller Cotton Couture Solids in my quilt. To make the quilt as pictured you will need:

3 yards 108” wide fabric for backing OR 9 yards 45” wide fabric pieced
100” x 104” piece of batting
